My journey to school!

Till 8th standard we were allowed to go to school only in school bus. School bus used to come early in the morning by 7:30am, it go to lot other interior places too, hence it reaches school after long time!
We had a great and not so FRIENDLY driver whom we feared the most. He was an ex-military so we have to be well disciplined in school bus. I still remember him scolding my friends for sleeping by the window, for talking loudly..etc....Always he had his own reasons!

After 8th standard we were allowed to use any public transport bus service.I thought my journey would be much better but from my bus stop, I had only one direct bus to reach school in time, the next bus would make me late. I usually run for my bus, 7:30 was the time of the bus & I used to leave home by 7:25. If I go by that bus, I will be the first person to reach my school, to such an extent that It made even the principal to ask me not to come so early but I had no other choice.

If I miss that bus (rarely) then, I will have to go by an auto to the nearby town to get a bus, & there will be a plenty of buses one after another!

The terrible thing during those days was that we had concessions in our bus fares so that conductor will not be pleased enough to allow us on the bus. Looks on conductor's face was so terrible that it will ruin my whole day!

From the bus stop near school, I had to walk a long distance to reach my Higher Secondary School building, that too without getting much attention from principal's home which was on the way!
I just enjoy that walking by plucking grass, throwing stones, playing football with stones, staring at mangoes wishing they were in my mouth... I hardly had someone to give a company!
When I reach that building, there will be no one except some dogs sleeping in the school ground! Some days I will have to wait outside till one of the non-teaching staff comes with the key & open the classroom!

After entering into the classroom, I feel like the King of class till someone else come. When someone arrives, It is time to copy homework. I share what I have written, they share what they have written. So homework will be perfect when my teacher looks it.

What made me a volunteer?- My experiences as a volunteer!

None used to compel any of the students in my school to be a volunteer....but fact is that an indirect threatening was there! They put a little pressure by saying about 'grades' for these works as per syllabus (Socially Useful Public Work)!
So I too have been a volunteer in our school during many occasions!

The most enjoyed were my volunteer duties in "Refreshment" section during sports days & annual days. My main duty there was to give water, lemon juice & other eatables for officials & other students. So I was never thirsty or hungry..lol. There were times when I smuggled eatables to my friends who were taking part in sports.

Once or thrice I had got duty in ground , that too in running track. There my duty was similar to a postman, taking messages from one end of the ground to another end. Always I had to run to give results to the jury section. After each racing competition, my race starts! Well I enjoyed it.

The last annual day for me in the school was unforgettable!
I got duty in the parking lot. A lot of mess! I am supposed to guide those drivers 'park there', 'no parking there',' please move your vehicle little',' its two wheeler area so u may not park here',.................etc ! There was an old jumping pit filled with sand near to the road & parking area, so I had to take care of that too! All vehicles come directly to it, I used to jump in front of those vehicles and warn them. At last I fed up and i put a chair in front of that pit a sat on it! After everything was over I reached home @ 2 or 2:30 pm late in night!

Nice to remember those volunteer experiences!
I still find it great to remember the day on which we first reaped paddy. All of us in wet muddy soil with sickles in hand, we reaped a lot. Few of us even threw mud at each other. We even made concrete once. I was the guy who filled sand and later I took the easy job of pouring water to the concrete mixer.  And we made our road to high school building much stronger with that concrete. Our then principal & director of school also worked along with us. After the work he asked us "what you guys wish to eat?". He was in such a good mood that he may buy anything! We asked for broast  chicken, which was then popular. It came in a delivery van in no time and all of us enjoyed eaating it.

Our Great Director- Mr George Philip Kalarikkal

He is still the backbone of my old school, He is a man with little patience but good morale!
Any student in that institution will shiver with fear even by seeing his shadow. His strictness is what my dad loved the most. I think it's good up to a limit! He want all his students to be good citizens of India, he says it always. He was a STRICT supervisor during our socially useful public works (supw) period. It was he who guided us to grow paddy,  to harvest it, to concrete a road, to clean a ground, to create a road and many more!
Now I'm proud of it!

He taught us topology or geography in ma 10th standard. I was so afraid to sit in class. I still remember measuring distance in topology maps. I had a hard time in learning directions, once he made me to show directions in front of the class, I said East & West correctly, but South & North were interchanged. I felt like he is going to kill me.

He know when to encourage and when to scold. I have got both a lot, the later more than the other.

A situation when ma friends will laugh usually

Since I was little "weak" in maths, I used to ask my maths miss few doubts usually. As she is good in maths she used to solve everything even without referring her textbook!
The problem was that my friends will laugh because- she was small in height & I'm one of the the tallest in the class, so i will have to bend down to show her doubts! Seeing this pathetic situation all my friends will laugh & she never sees that!

Prof Shaukat - A Man With Physics

The way he comes to class was as if he was running for a 2x200 meters relay!
He will have a large physics text book his hand, But rarely refers as he will have some notes in his pocket. Its more funnier when he open the textbook, he will turn the pages so fast that all my friends will look at each other & laugh.

He was an highly experienced professor, but still it was difficult for ,us to learn & him to teach us! I wont say he don't know to teach but it was our long portions which made the all trouble!
Usually his periods were after noon! So most of my classmates had a nice snap & I too sometimes! He never cares & he continues his class to finish his portions as he is a college professor than a school teacher.

He was respected well among everyone.

The only thing i wish to forget, but still ................!

It happened when i was in 6th. During one of the regular maths class, i was sitting on the first bench gazing at the example in my textbook since i was not having a clear vision on the board. My maths teacher came to me started to scold , she thought i was referring textbook to know whether she was teaching right or wrong. She went on scolding me, at last i said crying that i cant see the board, then again she roared till the bell rang!
I told my parents everything! I had said them a long before that i cant see distant objects but they just ignored, but this time they were alerted, so they took me to an eye specialist and Dr said i was suffering from myopia and prescribed specs with a power of -1.0, It was the first time in my life having specs! When i came back to school with specs My maths teacher just gazed at me and said something to herself!!!!!

My Succesful doubts

As already i said i had a "bad habit" of asking doubts! During most of my computer classes my teacher will drink a lot of water because of my doubts!! Most of my doubts were genuine, about java source codes and logical approach so i never hesitated to ask them! Moreover i was much interested i computer science.

My Maths Professor

He was handsome even though he was very old!!! He was a genius and a good philosopher with a good sense of humor! We loved his class only because of his philosophy & humor. Even students of other batches came to our class during his hours!!! He was slow in covering his portions because of his philosophy!! He was such a wonderful man who know how to teach  & know how to make class enjoyable.

A foolish incident

You know i was famous among classmates for asking doubts!! I could still remember, one day i asked my maths professor a doubt, he rubbed all the steps and wrote new steps on the board , but he was unsuccessful in solving it eventhough he spent half an hour! He started thinking and proved that my doubt was a rubbish!!!!!!!! All my great great classmates couldn't control themself..they made such a laugh that i will never forget... When everythng was over bell rang and few of my friends came to me and started praising me....for wasting the time of professor and saving them!

My First Post

I was only an average boy in my class, but most of  my classmates were still jealous about me.
you know why? I had a good amount of patience to be silent! I hardly disturbed a class but in some cases.............i disturbs because i had a "bad habit of asking doubts" !!!!!!
